Dear Golden Flash Friends,

It is my distinct honor to introduce to you the Building Champions Campaign. Dr. Lester Lefton, Kent State President, and I unveiled these plans in the spring of 2012 with the aim to make a significant statement about the future of Kent State Athletics. The $4 million fundraising campaign to construct a mulit-sport locker room facility as an addition to the Field House will change the composition of five Kent State Athletics programs.

This campaign is the first phase of an overarching reinvestment into Kent State Athletics' facilities that will ensure the university's national standing as a top-tier athletic program. Foremost to the project is the creation of dedicated locker rooms and team areas for Women's Field Hockey, Women's Soccer, Women's Softball, Men's Track & Field and Women's Track & Field. Currently, these programs use shared space that they must vacate at times throughout the year. The plan also includes coaches' locker room facilities as well as satellite athletic training areas. In addition, the project will include a new identifiable entry into the Field House as well as improved amenities such as restrooms and concessions for patrons. These additions increase the functionality of the Field House as a venue for indoor Track & Field meets and other revenue streams.

We need your help! This campaign will be largely funded by private donations and your participation at any level will help us continue to build champions at Kent State.

Go Flashes!

“Running for Kent State has impacted my life in such an incredible way. Being a student-athlete here is helping me prepare for my future career as a high school teacher and coach by teaching me to discipline myself and learn from my mistakes in order to correct them for the future. I look forward to being a role model for young people and helping them the way I've been helped at KSU.”
